Our classroom communities are a mix of ages. Experienced Montessori-certified teachers to provide supportive and nurturing classrooms for learning and discovery during your child's formative early years. The innate curiosity of our students is cultivated in our scientifically prepared classroom environments. Each and every element in our classrooms is chosen to promote learning, discovery, and independence.
No one child works with every material available in the classroom. There is a selection of material which is appropriately challenging for each child. They gradually move through the curriculum at their own pace.
This environment is specially designed to appeal to the primary aged child and is filled with developmentally appropriate materials which help the child in his ultimate work of “creating the adult he is to become.”
Our early childhood classrooms focus on the Four Avenues:
Practical Life lessons unite the child’s need for movement with the need to learn practical skills. Lessons are set up to support coordination of movement, concentration, independence, character development, and preparation for writing, reading, and math.
PRACTICAL
Life
Children given concrete math materials in their early years, can easily & joyfully grasp the facts and skills of arithmetic later in school. When a child has the ability to touch & hold items they can be compared, counted, shared, & separated. These activities enable the child to discover instead of being told.
Mathematics

In a Montessori classroom, children practice phonetics and reading with word building using short vowels and learning sight words. This creates a strong foundation for language and reading education. As with all Montessori lessons, reading instruction is self-paced and presented to children one on one.

Sensorial lessons are to encourage focus and concentration by engaging the child’s senses. Children learn to order and classify, develop precision & exactness in movement, communicate sensorial limitation to adults, refine the senses, & construct intellect. Sensorial education also prepares for math and science.
